CARMEN
Bizet’s classic opera about love, passion, and power reimagined in the contemporary American Southwest. Carmen is a Queen of the Rodeo, Don Jose a soldier who falls for her, only to lose her affection to the bullrider Escamillo. This production treads the line between melodrama and satire of the patriarchy and Americana, as well as incorporating live cinema and video to further modernize the story.
